NEWS: EDGEFEST A BLAST

What an honor it was to get to cover the Sheepdogs at Edgefest 2011 just before they made their Rolling Stones cover debut, the first Canadian band to ever grace its cover. I bought a copy as soon as it hit the stands and it will go on my wall after I move.

IKMG is the workspace of lMark Keeler, a local Toronto photography and photojournalism student, bringing two years of  wonderful concert and media experience on behalf of Indie Canada Radio whom I still shoot for.

2011 has so far lived up to its billing of being a pivotal and exciting year full of big events, big names, exhausting days and its not quite over yet. Canadian Music Week gave me the rare privilege to shoot Melissa Ethridge and Sammy Hagar but that was just a warm up to the JUNO Awards - I think one of the more humbling experiences a new photographer could ever be granted. I think I still have Polaris and Indie week to wrap things up.

However, I also need to grow and will be embarking on some new directions and adventures. I have hit a technical and creative plateau and to address that I need to begin to move towards studio work and return to my courses to build on what I've learned. Another opportunity may be evolving that would have me at Sheridan for a photojournalism specialization though thats still very early yet.
